laminar Locket

Lock on and Lockable Motorcycle Tank Bag

Made in USA

Introducing a new concept in motorcycle tank luggage, a lockable rigid case that also locks onto the bike. It incorporates a novel mounting system to allow secure attachment to the fuel tank without contacting painted surfaces.

The Laminar Locket was designed to provide a secure storage unit that can carry a large quantity of gear near the mass center of the bike. The Locket is narrow at the front to allow handlebar turning clearance and wide at the rear to allow maximum storage volume (19 liters). Riding with the Laminar Locket installed also can give the rider extra comfort and security as it offers protection to his/her body core.

The Laminar Locket only fits motorcycles with the newer quick fill type fuel cap. These have an exposed outer circle of socket cap screws attaching the cap unit to the tank. Some of these screws are replaced to install the Laminar Locket. When correctly installed, nothing will touch any painted surface.

The Locket base plate will attach to fuel filler of many cruisers, sport touring, and adventure touring motorcycle, however, their handlebar design or extra steering lock will allow the handle bars to contact the Locket. Since most of these motorcycles have factory luggage and numerous accessory options, we elected to ignore these segments and design the Locket for the hard luggage challenged sport bike segment. The Locket should not be installed on any motorcycle that does not have at least 1/2" clearance, at full lock, in either direction.

If your motorcycle is not listed on either the "Fit" or "Won't Fit" list we offer the following: Call (web site can not process this Money Back offer); confirm that we do not know if the Locket will fit your model; Purchase Locket; carefully trial fit Locket to your bike. If there is proper clearance tighten everything and let us know it fits. If there is handlebar interference, repack Locket and notify us.

Much effort was spent maximizing the volume of the Locket while providing clearances for operating the motorcycle. Also, we endeavored to have the Laminar Locket integrate with the fuel tank, without having a perched appearance.

Even with our new adjustable mount, the Laminar Locket will not fit some motorcycles. Though they have the correct type of fuel filler, for other reasons, such as rearward swept handlebars or position of the fuel filler, they may not fit. The Locket does fit most recent sport bikes allowing riders of these motorcycles to take a short tour and lock their valuables.

We are early in the learning phase of which motorcycles the Locket will fit. Touring bikes seem to have handlebars that sweep the tank side to side that the Locket would obstruct. This applies also to Street/trail bikes (think BMW GS types) because the handlebar turn angle is so great.

Universal type motorcycles (Standards) and sport bikes are most likely to work out well.

Generally, if your handlebars are in front of the fuel tank sides when turned to lock, the Locket should fit. If the handlebars are higher than the tank and pulled back so that they move across the tank before they touch the stops, the locket may not work with your bike.
